Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker player on the planet by most of the top-ranked pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His papa taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover anything he could about poker. Phil routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the adverse feedback from other people kill his dream of becoming one of the best poker competitors in the world.
He began competing intently after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. Phil credits his success to hard work and a continuing passion for the game of poker. Phil states that he is learning every single day and is very abashed about his achievements. He knows he makes mistakes every single game of poker and always aspires to improve.
