No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been branded as the number one poker competitor on the planet by most of the top professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching turning one. His grandfather taught Phil penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to discover whatever he could about poker. Phil routinely told his grandparents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the adverse feedback from others destroy his ambition of becoming one of the best poker competitors on the planet.
Phil started playing intently after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial few years for Phil were a teaching period and winning wasn’t a normal thing at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made 2 final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he destroyed quite a few of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an eternal love for poker. Phil states that he is picking up skills every day and is very humble about his accomplishments. He admits to making errors every single session of poker and constantly strives to improve.
Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big tournaments, he favors destroying cash games on a normal basis.
