No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker competitor in the world by most of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching turning one. His papa taught Phil penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to pickup anything he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the detrimental feedback from others kill his ambition of being one of the best poker competitors in the world.

Phil started competing intently after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a learning experience and coming away with a win wasn’t a common outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved 2 final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he destroyed many of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an undying love for the game of poker. Phil says that he’s picking up skills every day and is quite abashed about his success. He knows he makes errors in each session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
