No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker competitor in the world by many of the top-ranked professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to pickup every little thing he could about poker. Phil would tell his elders that he was going to be a professional poker player. He did not let the negative comments from other people annihilate his dream of becoming one of the best poker competitors on the planet.
He began playing intently after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a learning period and winning wasn’t a common outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he destroyed quite a few of the better known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an undying love for the game of poker. He states that he is learning every single day and is incredibly abashed about his success. Phil admits to making mistakes in each game of poker and always strives to improve.
Even though Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he favors destroying money games on a normal basis.
